Distancing rules N. Carolina hospital

North Carolina health officials say two more people have died from the flu as the 2018-19 season nears the end.

The death toll for the season is at 203, although the Department of Health and Human Services says some deaths related to the flu go undiagnosed or unreported.

So far, 129 of the victims were aged 65 or older. There were 50 flu victims in the 50-to-64 age group, with 19 in the 25-to-49 age group and two each in the birth-to-4 age group and the 5-to-17 age group. There was one death in the 18-to-24 age group.

For the same time period in the 2017-18 flu season, there were 390 deaths.

Flu season usually ends on March 31, but it has lingered into April in some years.
