An Aberdeen man was arrested for sexual assault of a 13-year-old female, according to a news release from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office.

On July 27th, Moore County Sheriff’s Office received a request from the Hoke County Department of Social Services to investigate a sexual assault.

On September 13th, their investigation led them to arrest John D. Campbell, age 30. Campbell was charged with one count of felony statutory sexual offense on a child and one count of felony indecent liberties with a child, according to Sheriff Godfrey.

Campbell was placed in the Moore County Detention Center after his arrest, was given a $75,000 secured bond, and has a September 25th court date, according to arrest records.
