The Moore County Sheriff’s Office has reopened its Animal Services shelter.

The shelter underwent remodeling at the end of September and Moore County’s homeless animals were housed at a temporary shelter during the construction of the facility.

The new updates included resealing all the floors of the entire facility, a new animal washing bay, the construction of a new intake room and the installation of a new industrial washer and dryer.

“The goal was to transform the building into an up to date safe and clean environment for the staff and animals,” said Sheriff Godfrey in an email. “We thank you for your patience and can’t wait for you to come down to meet your family’s next new furry addition.

The shelter is located on 15-501 in Carthage and is open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm during the week and from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturdays.
