The armored truck was traveling northbound when it ran off the left-hand side of the roadway into the median. The truck overturned on its side and slid into thick cable barriers which then caused the vehicle to right itself. The armored compartment of the vehicle remained in tack. The NC Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident.

Responding to the scene were Moore County EMS, Cypress Pointe Fire & Rescue, Southern Pines Fire & Rescue, Vass Police Department, and the NC Highway Patrol.
