Moore County Board of Commissioners released their April 3rd meeting highlights

~ As East Moore Water District Board of Directors, approved minutes and called a public hearing
on April 17, 2018, at 5:15pm regarding funding for the EMWD Phase IV project.

~Proclaimed April as Child Abuse Prevention Month.

~Proclaimed April 2‐8, 2018 as Public Health Week.

~ Approved on consent agenda:  minutes, budget amendments, resolutions authorizing upset bid
process for LRK#s 00054822, 00054821, 00054820, 00031054, and 00036826.

~ Held a public hearing regarding an amendment to the Road Naming and Addressing Ordinance
and approved the amendment to add one road:  Bristling Pine Rd.

~ Approved Public School Building Capital Fund Lottery Applications for installation of air
conditioning in school kitchens and replacement of roofing on Building 1 at Pinecrest High
School.

~Awarded contract to Prism Contractors, Inc. for the Lake Pinehurst sanitary sewer rehabilitation
project.

~ Rejected bids received for vehicles for the Public Works Department.

~ Awarded contract to Columbus Utilities, Inc. for Seaboard water main replacements in Vass and
authorized County Manager or designee to sign change orders up to $20,000 each contingent on
legal approval.

~ Adopted resolution supporting passage of bond referendum on May 8, 2018, for Moore County
Schools and Sandhills Community College projects.

~ Reappointed Thomas Kees to the ABC Board.

~Reappointed Karuna Rekhraj and Jan Hecox to the Library Board of Trustees.
