Jacob “El Gallo” Flores, an active duty 3rd Special Forces soldier will be making his professional boxing debut at SportsUSA on Fort Bragg August 18, 2018. He will dedicate his debut fight and donate $1 from every ticket he sells to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Flores is an outstanding soldier who exemplifies the army creed with his actions each day, in and out of uniform. He won the 2017 Soldier of the Year Best Warrior Competition for 1st Special Forces Command and placed 3rd overall for the 2018 3rd Special Forces Group Best Warrior Competition.

Originally from Houston Texas and now stationed at Fort Bragg, Flores found boxing again after having to lay down his gloves and impressive amateur boxing career to pursue a career in the U.S. Army.

His first time sparring in years at the “Fort Bragg Smoker” sparring event last month at SportsUSA led him to make the decision to turn pro. Ironically, the same event linked him with his current coach also from Houston, who served at Fort Bragg, and trained with Ron “Tequila” Collins Flores’s coach back home.

Spending time with his new coach Retired Army Cpt. Lawrence “Coach Cap” Blackwell, Flores was exposed to the awesome programs the Wounded Warrior Project had to offer warriors with service related disabilities. He immediately wanted to do more. Flores will donate $1 from every ticket he sells via his eventbrite link or in person to the Wounded Warrior Project

World Champions Roy Jones Jr, and James “lights out” Toney, along with legendary boxing trainer Don Turner are a few celebrity names expected to be in attendance.  George Foreman Sr.’s nephew will be fighting on the card as well.

Doors open at 6 pm for the 8/18 “Operation Knockout” pro boxing event and the show starts at 7 pm.  Sports USA is located at  Bldg. 3-2102, Longstreet Rd. Fort Bragg, North Carolina 28310.

Tickets are available online via EventBrite or directly from Jacob Flores. General admission is $30, ringside $50, a military ticket $25 (active duty with valid ID) and VIP seating are also available.  Eventbrite Ticket Link

Prior to the vent, there will be a meet and greet with four weight division former world champion and former professional boxer, boxing commentator, boxing trainer, and Olympic medalist Roy Jones Jr. at SportsUSA  from 4:00-5:30pm. This is free and open to the public.
