A 52-year-old bridge on Jackson Springs Road in western Moore County will be replaced said N.C. Department of Transportation.

The construction of the bridge over Jackson Creek will begin Tuesday, January 2nd.  Traffic will be detoured onto N.C. 73, N.C. 211 and Hoffman Road.

The new bridge is scheduled to open in May.

The 1.2 million contract to replace this bridge and one on Roseland Road was awarded to Dellinger Inc. of Monroe.  The Jackson Springs Road bridge will be constructed first.
