Moore County Schools has opened two portals to solicit input on the names for the new schools in Aberdeen and Pinehurst.

Separately, the town of Aberdeen is conducting a survey to gauge support for naming the Aberdeen school, Aberdeen Elementary. You can take this survey here.

The Moore County Schools’ portal will be open from March 12-March 26 with action by the school board following April 8.

During the Board of Education March 5 meeting, board members discussed possible names for the new Aberdeen school being built on Highway 5. Those names were Aberdeen Crossing Elementary School, Aberdeen Elementary School, and Blue’s Crossing Elementary School.

Names for the new elementary school being built in Pinehurst were also discussed at the March 5 and March 11 meeting. Those names include Pinehurst Elementary School, Village Elementary School, and Old Town Elementary.
