Moore County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a Southern Pines man after searching his home Thursday.

According to a news release from Sheriff Godfrey, the sheriff’s department and the North Carolina Probation and Parole conducted a probation search of the suspect’s home on North May Street.

Law enforcement seized 70 dosage units of Suboxone-(Buprenorphine and Naloxone) and drug paraphernalia with an estimated street value of $700.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Thomas Stephen Hinton Jr, 60 years of age. Hinton was charged with: Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver a Schedule III Controlled-Substance, Maintaining a Dwelling for the Storage of a Controlled-Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and the Simple Possession of a Schedule III Controlled-Substance.

Hinton was placed in the Moore County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center under a $50,000 secured bond, given a June 26th court date, and is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
