Moore County Deputies arrested a woman on identity theft and drug charges.
Rosemarie Lenora McDonald, 34, from Raleigh, was arrested and placed under a $100,000 secured bond on Saturday, according to a news release from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office.
McDonald presented a fraudulent prescription to a pharmacy on Thursday in an attempt to illegally obtain 120 dosage units of oxycodone. According to Sheriff Godfrey, oxycodone is an opioid narcotic listed as a North Carolina Schedule II controlled substance.
McDonald was charged with attempting to obtain a controlled substance by fraud/forgery, the attempt to obtaining property by false pretense, identity theft and attempted trafficking of opiates by possession.
McDonald has a March 13th court date, according to arrest records.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
