Moore County Deputies pulled over a vehicle on Highway 211 near West End Thursday afternoon and arrested a Southern Pines man for heroin.

Sheriff Godfrey stated in a news release, “After searching Javorris Taque Young’s 2006 Buick vehicle, deputies seized 28 grams (280 bindles) of heroin and over $1,800 in cash.”

Young, 33, of the 800 block on South Mechanic Street, was charged with two counts of trafficking in heroin, possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin, felony possession of heroin, the felony maintaining of a vehicle for the storage of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Young was placed in the Moore County Detention Center under a $600,000 secured bond and given a December 12th court date, according to arrest records.
