A rollover crash injured an elderly couple in Pinebluff Saturday morning.

The couple was traveling toward town on W. Baltimore Avenue when the driver ran off the edge of the road and struck a large tree stump. The impact caused the Ford Escape to flip over upside down in the road.

People immediately rushed to their aid and safely removed both victims from their overturned vehicle. They remained with the victims until emergency crews arrived on the scene.

The female passenger was airlifted to a local trauma center in serious condition. The male driver was transported by EMS to FirstHealth Moore Regional in stable condition.

Pinebluff Police was on the scene and will be investigating the accident.

Baltimore Avenue was completely shut down until the road could be cleared.

Responding to the scene were Pinebluff Fire & Rescue, Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, and Moore County EMS.
