All the employees and customers had already evacuated the building and were standing in the parking lot in frigid temperatures. Later, most of the people huddled in their cars to keep warm awaiting the outcome of the fire. Within a short time later, there were more fire trucks on the scene as well as a ladder truck from Aberdeen and one from Southern Pines.

The fire appeared to be in the ceiling as smoke was seen coming from some of the ducts. After getting the situation under control, you could see firefighters taking large ventilation fans into the building to clear the smoke.

Neighboring fire crews were released from the scene after about an hour, but Aberdeen units remained on the scene. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation.
