A double wide mobile home was devoured by fire Thursday.
Emergency crews responded to the outside woods fire around 4:30 p.m. at Waynor Road, off of Highway 22, near the airport.
“Whispering Pines Fire & Rescue and Cypress Pointe Fire & Rescue were added quickly after arrival by Southern Pines and finding out that we had a wind driven fire with a double wide and two sheds burning along with about fifteen to twenty acres of woods,” said Frank Staples with Cypress Pointe Fire & Rescue.
