A FirstHealth ambulance was involved in a traffic accident causing it to overturn on its side on Highway 211 just outside Pinehurst Thursday evening.
Emergency crews were dispatched at 7:52 PM to Highway 211 at the intersection of Juniper Lake Road. The accident occurred when the ambulance collided with an Infiniti sedan causing extensive front-end damage to the car.
Fortunately, the ambulance was not carrying a patient at the time. The driver of the car was not injured, but both personnel in the ambulance were transported by EMS to the hospital for evaluation.
The accident shut down Highway 211 towards West End forcing drivers to turn down Juniper Lake Road while emergency crews worked. The Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident.
Responding to the accident were Pinehurst Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, Moore County Public Safety, Moore County Sheriff’s Department, and the NC State Highway Patrol.
