NCHSAA delays fall sports September 1

Pinecrest High School Coach Chris Metzger made it to the final round of US Cellular’s Most Valuable Coach contest and voting ends Tuesday Noon CT.  If Metzger wins first place, Pinecrest High School will receive $50,000 and a Samsung Tech prize package valued at $30,000.

Until Nov. 13, the community can vote for Metzger, every day, once a day, by visiting www.TheMostValuableCoach.com

Metzger is neck and neck for first place with Track and Cross County Coach Matt Chance from Bowling Green, Missouri.  Metzger currently has 23.25 percent of votes while Chance has 23.22 percent.

“The $80,000 prize will enable us to expand a reading outreach for our elementary school students,” said Assistant Principal Herb Hanson.  “It will also help us to build a lunch area dedicated to helping unify our student body through a ‘No Student Eats Alone’ program.”

By making it to the final 15 coaches in October, Metzger won $5,000 for Pinecrest High School where he was honored at the school during the award presentation.

The final three winning coaches will be announced November 20.
