On June 15, the Marine Corps League Detachment #1001 will be holding its 10th Annual Appreciation Picnic at the Aberdeen Lake Park.

Beginning at 11 a.m., this event will enable fellow marines and FMF Corpsmen to share stories and enjoy camaraderie with each other, as well as their families.

The goal of the League is to preserve traditions and interests of the U.S. Marine Corps and to honor their “Semper Fidelis” motto of being there for Marines in need.

In addition to enjoying fun, fellowship and exploring ways to better serve fellow marines, an active purpose of MCL is to further its charitable causes.  For example, volunteers will be sought for its 2019 Moore County Toys for Tots campaign.

With the support of sponsors, Lowes Foods and Coca Cola, hamburgers, hot dogs and cold drinks will be served.
