A housekeeper is behind bars after being arrested for stealing from her client.

Jessica Pilson Lawton, 47, of Cameron, is accused of stealing a credit card from the Vass home she was hired to clean.

Lawton was arrested Sunday and charged with one count of felony financial card theft and one count of misdemeanor larceny, said Moore County Sheriff Fields in a Friday news release.

Lawton allegedly stole the credit card on  March 24 and used it at several locations in Lee County.

“Additional charges on Lawton are pending,” said Sheriff Fields.

The suspect was jailed under a $5,000 secured bond, has an April 10 court date and is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
