Witnesses said the SUV ran the stop sign coming out of Forest Hills neighborhood, crossed over US#1, and crashed into the lake.  When law enforcement arrived, the driver was out of the vehicle and on land.

At first, he was unsure if his grandmother was in the vehicle with him as alcohol was a factor in the accident.  A dive team was called, and law enforcement was also dispatched to the grandmother’s house to see if they could make contact. While the dive team was en route, law enforcement was able to locate the grandmother safely at her home.
