The 21st Annual Festival of Trees is being held at the Carolina Hotel in Pinehurst until Sunday. There is something to enjoy for the young and old alike.
Travel through a winter wonderland of more than 200 decorated holiday trees, wreaths, gift baskets, and gingerbread houses to put you in the Christmas spirit.
The festival includes a silent auction, raffle, holiday photo booth, live entertainment, ugly Christmas sweater party, and an angel tree.
The Festival of Trees originally began in 1997 with 32 trees to raise funds for Sandhills Children’s Center. It was a huge success raising almost $50,000 surpassing their $20,000 goal. Festival of Trees has grown to an annual display of 200 trees and raising over $200,000 each year for the children.
Since its inception, the proceeds have enabled Sandhills Children’s Center to continue to provide its vital community program to children birth through five years old, with Down Syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, hearing impairments, vision impairments and other developmental delays.
The mission of Sandhills Children’s Center is “To provide services of the highest quality for children with and without special developmental needs, ages birth through five.” For more information on the Festival of Trees, please visit festivaloftrees.org.
