NC unemployment now on 12-month streak of lower rates

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina’s seasonally adjusted jobless rate remained unchanged at 3.6 in November, after falling over the previous seven months.

The North Carolina Department of Commerce announced Friday that the unemployment rate decreased .9 of a percentage point from the same month a year ago. The national rate remained unchanged at 3.7 percent.

The number of people working in North Carolina rose by about 3,400 over the month to over 4.8 million, which includes an increase of more than 68,000 over the year.
