Christine Shore, 77, of West End, NC, died peacefully Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at the FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst, surrounded by her family.
Born October 15, 1940 in Kernersville, NC, she was the daughter of the late Elisha “Pop” and Elizabeth “Sis” Vaughn. She graduated from West End High School in 1960.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Donald Edward Vaughn and a sister Sallie Sturdivant.
She is survived by her daughter Annette Hancock (David) of Carthage; son, Michael Shore (Erin) of Southern Pines; grandchildren, Laura Hancock and Walker Shore; brothers, Jerry Vaughn (Mary Jo), James “Pinkney” Vaughn; sisters, Clara Maurer (Allen), Crystal Douglas (Robert); 4 nephews and 6 nieces.
Funeral service will be held 2 PM Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Fairview Baptist Church with Aaron Wicker officiating. The family will receive friends at her home immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Firsthealth Hospice, 150 Applecross Rd., Pinehurst, NC 28374.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of FirstHealth Hospice for the kindness, comfort and loving attentiveness that they so willingly extended to Christine and the family during this difficult time.
