Carl William “Bud” Burgeson Jr., 91, of Pinehurst, NC passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at his home with his wife Mary Lou, daughter Susan and son-in-law Terrence present.
Carl was born January 5, 1928 in Evanston, Illinois to the late Carl William Burgeson, Sr. and Ann Beres Burgeson. He attended St. George’s High School and graduated from Northwestern University. He proudly served his country for 2 years in the U.S. Navy. He was a very generous and caring man who was well loved by family and friends. He was a hard worker, great father and dedicated provider. He loved playing golf, cooking gourmet meals and gardening. Carl’s home was one of the first 50 homes in Pinewild Development. He served on Pinewild’s Architectural Review Board for 8 years and on the Pinehurst Builders Commission.
Carl is survived by his wife of almost 68 years, Mary Louise Burgeson; son Thomas (Karen); daughters Susan O’Neill (Terrence) and Nancy Larsen (Eric); daughter-in-law Cathy; 9 grandchildren Kimberly, Carl, Jana, Bradley, Sean (Amanda), Caitlyn (Chad), Daniel (Karyn), Greg and Keith; numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son William Burgeson, and his brother Bob Burgeson.
