Cherie Cook Greene, 68, of Andrews, passed away peacefully October 2, 2018 with family and friends by her side.

Born in Sumpter, SC, Cherie graduated from TCCC in Murphy, NC with a degree in Cosmetology.  She owned and operated a hair salon in Robbinsville for many years before retiring and looking for her next adventure.  One of thoses adventures was as the co-owner of Lonesome Doves Stables, which offered trail rides throughout the local area.  Cherie loved animals and enjoyed introducing others to the delight that their horses brought her.

Cherie was also an avid gardener.  She excitedly planned out her garden each year and took pride in all the vegetables that she was able to can and share with friends and family.  When not gardening, Cherie enjoyed various forms of crafting including crocketing, painting and creating miniature villages on rocks she found. Her enthusiasm for life and sharing it with others brought happiness and laughter to all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary Hendren Cook and her beloved dog, Rocky.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Patti Green Wells (Jason Rogers); her sister, Kathy Walters (Dan); her brother, Landis Cook; grandchildren: Kalee Cruz (Jose) and Landon Wells; four  great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends who will miss her dearly.

A Memorial service was held on Thursday, October 11,  2018 at New Hope Baptist Church, 2400 Snowbird Road, Robbinsville, NC. Visitation began at 6:00 PM with the service following at 7:00 PM.

A private graveside ceremony will be held Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Eureka Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 2185 Farm Life School Road, Carthage, NC
