Edna Hazelene Sparks, age 69, passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, surrounded by her family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robbie Gibson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Edna was born in Moore County on November 2, 1948 to Walter and Minnie Campbell Saunders. She loved life and was always smiling and happy. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children, Darrin Sparks and wife Delores of Indiana, Shawn Sparks and wife Sam of Ohio, Corey Sparks and wife Samatha also of Ohio; sisters, Liz Saunders and Blanche Gibson; brothers, Dewie Saunders and Jesse Saunders; grandchildren, Dustin, Brittney, Cody, Jordan, Ashley, Alexis, Skyler, Larissa, Xandler, Echo and Winston; eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Sparks; parents, Walter and Minnie Campbell Saunders; sisters Carrie Cranford, Virgie McNeil, Martha Hannah and Mary Campbell; brothers, Herbert Saunders and Clarence Saunders.
