Edward Percival Crenshaw, 71, of Southern Pines, passed away on August 8, 2019 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

He was born on December 13, 1947 in Rex, North Carolina to the late Jack and Barbara Crenshaw.  Edward was the Founder and President of Epic Enterprises Inc., headquartered in Southern Pines, which he started in 1977. The company grew into a thriving business with locations in Georgia and the U.K.  Epic Entreprises is a textile machinery parts and services company mainly supplying the U.S. carpet industry. Under Edward’s leadership, the company grew substantially in both sales and profitability domestically and internationally. Forming a dependable network of international agents to represent Epic’s parts and services worldwide was one of his most notable accomplishments. Edward graduated from Parkton High School in 1966. He studied Civil Engineering at Fayetteville Technical Institute and acquired a Drafting Degree at Robeson Technical College.

Edward enjoyed coaching little league baseball for his children’s teams when they were young. He was a member of Brownson Church, member of the Elks Club, and a member of the UNC Educational Foundation Rams Club for 37 years.

He was a loving, devoted husband, father and grandfather.  He loved his many dogs and was a huge Tar  Heel fan.  He also enjoyed time at the beach, mountains, and anything outdoors including bird watching, hiking, and gardening.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Crenshaw and one sister, Connie Herring.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Wanda Garner Crenshaw, two children, Adam McKee Crenshaw (Wife Katie) of Southern Pines, and Kristin Crenshaw Harding (Husband Ben) of London, England, two sisters, Lorraine Norton (Husband Charles) of Raleigh, Carolyn Davidson of Summerville, SC, and one granddaughter, Lainey Kate Crenshaw. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines.  A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Brownson Memorial Presbyterian Church.
