Emily Pate Stutts, 98, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on June 18, 2019.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Pleasant Hill United Methodist, with the Reverend Jon Strother officiating.  Burial will follow at Pine Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM and at other times at the home of Greer and Floyd Williams, 1071 Talc Mine Road, Robbins, NC.

Emily was the daughter of the late Roander and Marseline Pate of Angier, NC.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Paul Stutts; brothers: Dewey Pate, Glenn Pate, Melvin Pate; sisters: Ethel Pleasant, Martha Denning, Alice Flowers, Callie Welch.

Emily is survived by daughters: Greer Williams and husband Floyd, of Robbins, Sharon Merrill and husband Rick, of Raleigh; grandchildren: Brian Trantham and wife Kristin, of Mooresville, Paula Trantham and husband Kevin, of Raleigh, Grayson Merrill and wife Emily, of Raleigh; great grandchildren: Jenna and Jake Trantham, Graham Merrill; and many generations of nieces and nephews.

Emily graduated from Angier High School and Campbell University.  She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, where she was active in the Women’s Circle and the Adult Women’s Sunday School Class.

The family is thankful for the wonderful, loving care given to their mother and grandmother, by the staff at Autumn Care Senior Living Center, Biscoe, NC
