Hugh M. Sinclair (b. 4/22/26), was the son of the late Hugh H. and Elizabeth Risley Sinclair or Frenchtown, New Jersey. A combat Infantryman with the 100th Infantry Division in World War II, he participated in the recapture of the Maginot Line and assault crossing of the Neckar River at Heilbronn, Germany. He subsequently was an Honors graduate of Yale University and the Harvard Business School.

A Vice President of the Insurance Company of North America, he headed its bonding and specialtyinsurance divisions in Philadelphia, followed by serving as president of its foreign reinsurance business in Bermuda.

Hugh was an active volunteer with numerous organizations upon retiring to Pinehurst. An Elder and member of the finance and endowment committees at Community Presbyterian Church, President of Given Memorial Library, member of the board and finance committee of the regional Girl Scout Committee in Raleigh, and a longtime volunteer at the Sandhills Coalition for Human Care, he also was a Vice President of Moore County Republican Men’s Club.

Hugh enjoyed golf, reading history, and travelling extensively with his wife.

Surviving are huis wife Bunny (Tibine) Bohlsen, son Scott of Washington, D.C., daughter Elizabeth Seltzer of Willow Grover, PA., sister Kathleen Pegg of Nazareth, PA., stephdaughter Carolyn Horth, of Orland, Maine, stepson John Seifarth of Brussels, Belgium and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at the Chapel at Belle Meade at a later date.
