James “J.P.” Landreth, age 39 of Southern Pines died Sunday, June 9, 2019 in Asheville.

A funeral mass will be 10:00 AM Saturday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Southern Pines with Father Andrew McNair presiding. Burial will follow with military honors in St. Anthony’s Church Cemetery.

Born at Ft. Bragg he grew up in Southern Pines. JP was a US Army veteran serving in Iraq. After nine years of service to our country he worked as a government contractor for four years in Iraq and most recently with UPS.

JP was an avid New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins fan. He loved Rugby and was president of the SoPi Rugby Club. He was also a proud member of the Southern Pines VFW Post 7318.

He is survived by the pride of his life, his son Sheamus Landreth of the home; his parents Thomas and Elizabeth (Cauley) Landreth of Southern Pines; brother Tudor Landreth of Aberdeen; sister Shannon Landreth of Southern Pines; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday at Community Congregational Church on Bennett St. in Southern Pines.
