Jennifer McInnis Jenkins, age 61, of Aberdeen NC, passed away under the care of hospice on Monday, March 26, 2018 at her home surrounded by family. 

Jennifer was born on June 1, 1956 in Pinehurst, NC to the late Neil Woodrow McInnis and Lena Thomas McInnis. She was a graduate of Pinecrest High School and received her Bachelor of Education at Appalachian State University and her Master of Education Administration at Campbell University. Jennifer was also an active member of the Alpha Delta Kappa teachers sorority.

Jennifer was an educator within Moore County schools for 38 years. She was particularly gifted at impacting the lives of her students as a math teacher and assistant principal within the school system. She enjoyed traveling with her family, summer vacations at the beach, weekend camping trips at Jordan Lake, making pottery, hiking in the mountains and visiting waterfalls.

Jennifer was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. Jennifer was survived by her beloved husband, Jackie Jenkins; daughter, Jacquelyn Jenkins and fiancé, Richard Kujawski, granddaughter, Sophie Kujawski; daughter, Victoria Jenkins and fiancé, Matthew Vaccaro. She was also survived by her sister, Jane Penny, of Durham, NC and her children, Rachel Breuhaus (Erik) and Warren Penny (Rachael and son, Owen); two brothers, Thomas McInnis and wife, Susan, of West End, NC, and Eric McInnis and wife, Robbie, their son, David, of West End, NC. Jennifer also had many loved nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Bethesda Presbyterian Church in Aberdeen, NC at 11:00 am. Friends and family are invited to gather in the Bethesda fellowship hall directly following the service. The family will receive friends at that time for fellowship and remembrance to celebrate Jennifer’s life following the service.
