Joan Callaway Frye, 84 of Aberdeen, died Thursday, November 1, 2018 at her home.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 PM Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Yates-Thagard Baptist Church, 3820 Vass-Carthage Rd., Carthage, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:30- 2:30 at the church before the service. Burial will follow at Bethesda Cemetery in Aberdeen.
Joan was very active professionally and in the community. She was a bank manager, a real estate broker, and was an Avon representative for 40 years. She served with the Miss Moore County Scholarship Pageant for 19 years and with the Miss Noel Pageant for many years. She was a member of the Sandhills Business and Professional Women and also a member at the Aberdeen First Baptist Church. Joan was preceded in death by her brothers, Roy, Robert, John, and Earl Callaway, her sisters, Mary Ruth Haire, Louise Eldridge, Sadie Cagle, and Patsy Sercy.
She is survived by her husband, Samuel F. Frye, sons, Sammy Frye (Sandra), Bruce F. Frye (Vicki) and Dale L. Frye, grandchildren, Sawyer, Brody, Jourdan, Callaway, Adam, great grandchildren, London and Saylor, and many nieces and nephews.
Service arrangements are entrusted to Boles Funeral Home of Southern Pines.
