John Leo ‘Jack’ Thomas, passed away June 4th at his residence in Southern Pines, NC with his loving family at his side. He was 93.

His funeral will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

Born in Elizabeth, NJ on 2 January 1925, the second of 3 children to John Leo Thomas of New Brunswick, NJ and Mary Kate Hamilton of Molougha, County Clare, Ireland.

During WWII Jack served in the United States Navy aboard PC1230 in the Caribbean and Pacific theatres and never lost his love of the sea. Jack was a graduate of Seton Hall University. He married Lucille Maude Estabrook in 1951 and raised his family in Bernardsville, NJ before retiring to North Carolina after a career with the Warsaw Insurance Company.

Jack was predeceased by his sister Margaret and brother James. He is survived by his bride of 67 years Lucille; his children Patricia, Kevin (Laura), Michael, and John; 7 grandchildren Peter, Charles, Scott, Kristine, Jennifer, Melissa, and Shaun, and 2 great grandchildren James and Decker.
