Larry Rufus Pugh, 72, of West End, passed away at his home on Tuesday, February 12, surrounded by his family.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Larry was born in Virginia to the late John and Mary Draper Pugh. Larry served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. After he returned home, he married Ms. Linda Johnson. He had worked for Macke Co. for many years in Virginia and later Wilmington & Charlotte, NC. In 1995 Larry & Linda moved to the Sandhills where he was General Manager of Mid-South Food Services at the Coca – Cola plant in Aberdeen.

He is survived by his wife and their daughter Amie Newell of Charlotte. He was the grandfather of Alex and Arisa Yoon. He was the brother of James Pugh and the late John, Robert, Ralph, Leonard, Russell, and Lonnie Pugh , Virginia Craighead, Pearl Clingenpeel, Maude Beckner, Mary Cundiff, Elsie Webb , Winnie Jamison.

Larry was a great leader and mentor in business, and those who knew him were inspired by his impeccable work ethic and generous spirit. He cherished his family very much and enjoyed creating a variety of beautiful woodworks to share with everyone he met.
