Lee Alderman Christopher, age 61 of Southern Pines was called to his heavenly home on February 15, 2019 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital. Lee passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and wrapped in the loving arms of The Lord.

Lee was born to James Paul Christopher and Kay Frances Long Christopher of Hope Mills, North Carolina on May 12, 1957. The family moved to Moore County in the early 1960s, the place Lee called home for the remainder of life. Lee attended Pinecrest High School, then made his career at Moore Regional Hospital, where he was employed for over 27 years. Lee served his community for many years by volunteering with Aberdeen Rescue Squad, where through his dedicated service he worked his way up to Captain.

Lee was a long-time member and President of the Sandhills Bassmasters. Through his work with the Bassmasters club his love of fishing was shared with many local children through the annual kid’s fishing tournaments.  Along with fishing, Lee enjoyed deer hunting, playing golf, camping, and spending time with his family. Lee’s favorite past time was riding his motorcycle with his BUBBA crew.

Lee’s greatest accomplishments in life were his two daughters, Carrie and Elizabeth,  who he loved more than anything. Lee was blessed to be called Pawpaw by his two grandchildren, his little buddy and his princess, who adored him and were his pride and joy.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents James Paul Christopher and Kay Frances Long Christopher, his son-in-law Donald Reid Key II, his grandparents, and many loving aunts and uncles.

Lee is survived by his daughters, Carrie Christopher Key and fiancé Glenn Boles of Carthage, North Carolina and Elizabeth Christopher Burleson and husband Derek of Jacksonville, North Carolina; his grandchildren Jackson and Kinsington Key; former wife and best friend Linda Nelson Christopher, of Southern Pines; his brothers Jimmy Christopher and wife Carol, Mark Christopher and wife Connie, and Paul Christopher and wife Becky all of Moore County; along with many loving nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines from 3 to 6 pm.  A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 18, 2019 at 11 am at New Home Baptist Church with Rev. Trey Martin officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
