Marjorie Haddock Frier, 95, of Southern Pines, died Tuesday, March 6, 2019 at her home after a lengthy illness.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, March 14, 2019 at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Southern Pines. Interment will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Frier was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 1, 1923. She moved to Long Island, NY in 1930 and graduated from South Side High School in Rockville Center in 1941. She served in the USO during the war years, and then relocated to San Francisco, CA. She was employed by Union Oil Co. in San Francisco for 40 years until her retirement in 1984. She, along with her husband, John Frier, relocated to Pinehurst, and then Southern Pines.
Surviving is a cousin Frederick C. Levens of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina and a dear friend Helene Bucci of Pinehurst.
