Martha Rey Turner Thorne, 80 of Aberdeen passed on Monday, February 11, 2019 at the FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.
A graveside service will be held 11Am, Friday, February 15, 2019 at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Southern Pines.
Mrs. Thorne was born April 23, 1938 in Wilson County, NC to the late Melvin and Nora (Matthews) Turner.
Mrs. Thorne was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Thomas Irvin Thorne in October of 2018. Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Leroy Turner, Earl Turner, and Melvin Turner, Jr.;
She is survived by a daughter, Carol Thorne Waldrop and husband John of Whispering Pines; Two sons, Melvin Lee Thorne and wife Connie (Porter) of Little River, SC; and Jamie Thorne and wife Michelle of Pleasant Garden, NC; Two brothers, Gene Turner and wife Jean of Wilson, NC; and Ray Turner and wife Barbara of Wilson, NC; Four grandsons, Christopher Waldrop and wife Emily of Whispering Pines, NC; Ashley Thornen of Sanford, NC; Jeremy Thorne of Pinehurst, NC; and Brandon Thorne and wife Casey of Greensboro, NC; Two granddaughters, Lindsay Picerno of Carthage, NC; and Andrea Breedlove and husband Mark of Julian, NC; Three great grand-children, Beverly Picerno, Asher Breedlove and Judah Thorne.
