Michael Stanley Furr, 64, of Pinebluff, NC, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, October 17, 2018. Michael was a native of Moore County. He was born on June 10, 1954 to William Reid Furr and Shirley Irene Ammons Furr.
Michael attended Pinecrest High School and later pursued a career in trucking. Michael was a faithful member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Aberdeen. He enjoyed restoring automobiles, fishing, gardening, riding his Harley and had a love for animals.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, Oct 20, 2018 from 5:00PM – 7:00PM at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines. A funeral service will be held Sunday, Oct 21, 2018 at 3 PM at First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Aberdeen, NC, with the Rev. Horace Warwick officiating. Burial will follow at West End Cemetery.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife of 46 years, Martha DeBerry Furr; his children Jamie Furr of Rockingham, NC and Denise Furr Cotten (Del) of Charlotte, NC; mother, Shirley Irene Furr of Pinebluff, NC; sister, Teresa Ring (Lester) of Cameron, NC; brother, Jeffrey Furr of Pinebluff, NC; grandchildren, Nicole Furr, Matthew Furr, Mackenzie Cotten, Brinlee Cotten, Payton Cotten and Olivia Cotten. Michael was also loved and adored by a host of brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, William Reid Furr; brothers, William Lee Furr and Carl Wayne Furr.
Services are entrusted to Boles Funeral Home of Southern Pines.
