Robert Clyde Andrews, age 89, died Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Quail Haven Village in Pinehurst.
Mr. Andrews was born July 23, 1929 in Washington, DC to the late Hollis Wellington Andrews and Mabelle Lewis Andrews Rosch. He served in the U.S. Navy from August 1946 to June of 1976. He retired from the Navy as Machinist Mate Master Chief (Submarine Service). He was a member in good standing of the Seattle Submarine Veterans and the North Carolina Tarheels Submarine Veterans groups. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Craig Andrews, and a sister, Helen Andrews Siehl.
He is survived by his children, Janenne Andrews Morris-Penrod and her husband Randy of Logan, UT, Anthony C. Robertson and his wife Carol of Southern Pines, NC, Michael O’Connell and wife Melissa of Vacaville, CA, 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren, 3 nephews and 5 nieces.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
