Patricia Sheppard Crumrine, 94, of Southern Pines, passed away Friday, February 16, 2018 at her home in Penick Village.

The family plans a memorial service in Tryon, NC at a later date. Burial will be beside her husband.

A native of Alton, IL she was born on October 23, 1923 to the late Charles and Opal (Trost) Sheppard. She was proud to be part of the first graduating class of the University of Illinois occupational therapy program. Earlier in life she worked as an Occupational Therapist. Pat enjoyed knitting, weaving, travel, and reading. She and her husband, Joseph Lyle Crumrine lived in Tryon, NC for a few retirement years before his death. She later moved to Southern Pines to be closer to her family. 

She is survived by two daughters, Molly Wilson and husband David of Southern Pines, NC, Winifred Crumrine and husband Jack Neiger of Raleigh, NC; son, Joseph “Shep” Sheppard Crumrine and wife Mary Bednarik of Milwaukee, WI; sisters, Jean Doctor and husband Doc of Eustis, FL, Marilyn Gilbert and husband Bob of Incline Village, NV; brother, Charles Sheppard and wife Joan of Godfrey, IL; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Penick Village for their loving care and support.
