Wyatt Van Buren Coley, age 86, of Southern Pines, went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst, surrounded by his family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Phil Joines officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.

Son of the late Victor and Thurla Womble Coley.  Graduate of Apex High School, Wake Forest University, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and LSU School of Insurance Marketing. Mr. Coley served Leesville, New Hill, Duncan, Shiloh, Lake Waccamaw and Westwood Baptist Churches, Mount Vernon Springs, Gulf and Cameroian Presbyterian Churches. Also, he was a member in good standing of the Southern Pines Masonic Lodge 484 and Oasis Shriner.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah Roark Coley; sons W. Van Coley, Jr. and Roark Benjamin Coley; daughter, Frances Dawn Bass; step-children, John Davis Sims, III and Steva Sims McNulty and several grand and great-grandchildren.
