The Pinecrest Patriots thrilled their fans at home last night as they came back in exciting fashion after a giving up 5 runs in the first inning to win their conference game with the Jack Britt Buccaneers 8-7. The team now leads the 4A Conference with a 10-1 record and 16-3 for the season.

The hometown nine fell behind early, giving up 5 runs in the first inning, and found themselves trailing 7-2 at the end of the second. The scrappy Jack Britt team hit the ball hard and were helped by early defensive lapses.

When the home half of the 6th inning came around, it was time for Pinecrest to turn the tables with 4 runs, highlighted by a 3-run home run by starting and wining Senior pitcher, Nik Pry, and the game winning RBI by Jacob Zimmerman.

The Patriots will next play these same Buccaneers in the home-and-home series in Fayetteville this Friday.
