High school graduation is just around the corner, and it’s an exciting time for Moore County. For 16 Pinecrest Students, the approaching date is stressful because they can’t afford caps and gowns.
There are two ways the community can help. You may participate in the New Lending Program for low-income and homeless students, or you can Sponsor a Senior, according to Jen Golden, Senior Liaison.
If anyone has gently worn Pinecrest caps and gowns, you can donate them at the high school’s front desk for Ms. Golden. The students will then purchase the hoods, sashes, and tassels as a separate unit.
If you would like to Sponsor a Senior, the full cost of a package is $74, and the cost to donate just the hood and tassel portion of the package is $43. Also, monetary donations of any value are greatly appreciated.
If you’d like to sponsor a senior, please bring a check to the school made out to Pinecrest High School for the amount you’d like to sponsor (whole package or partial). Pinecrest High School will be placing orders next week.
