A police car and semi-truck collided Monday morning on U.S. Highway 1 in front of the Aberdeen Police Station.

The police car suffered extensive front end damage. The truck’s front bumper was partially knocked off.

There were no injuries reported. It took emergency crews over an hour to clear the scene.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.

This is the second incident on U.S. Highway 1 in a week that Sandhills Sentinel has reported.

A pedestrian was hit by a Moore County Sheriff’s Department patrol car last Thursday evening. The accident happened near the intersection of U.S. Highway 1 and Johnson Street by McDonald’s.

The pedestrian walked out in front of the patrol car. The victim was transported to Moore Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
