Authorities say they arrested a Carthage woman for stabbing a man in the torso early Wednesday morning in West End.

Merrybeth Jessica Luna-Glover, 25, was jailed under a $250,000 secured bond and charged with one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

“When Deputies arrived on the scene, they found a 41-year-old male suffering from a stab wound to his lower torso,” said Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields in a news release. “The victim told deputies that he had been stabbed while riding in a vehicle and provided information on the person who had stabbed him.”

The victim was flown to UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. Authorities did not release the man’s name and said he was in stable condition at the time.

Authorities did not state the relationship between the suspect and victim.

Luna-Glover has a May 30 court date and is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
