A stove fire was quickly contained by firefighters Sunday afternoon in Aberdeen. Firefighters responded to a structure fire on Ampersand Road behind Food Lion on Highway 5. Upon arrival, firefighters extinguished the blaze which was contained to the stove and the immediate surrounding area. Fire crews then used a series of fans to vent the smoke from the residence. No reported injuries from the fire as the family was able to immediately evacuate the home. Responding to the scene were Aberdeen Fire Department, Pinehurst Fire Department, and Aberdeen Police Department.
