The 12th Annual Reindeer Fun Run in Aberdeen is expecting thousands of people Saturday. The Town of Aberdeen announced the designated event parking and road closures.

The following road closures in downtown Aberdeen begin at 5 a.m. and will reopen around 12 p.m.  

Poplar Street – from South St. to Peach Ave.
Peach Ave – from Poplar St. to Sycamore St.
Sycamore St. – from Peach Ave. to Maple St.
Maple St. – entire street
Bethesda Ave. – from Maple St. to Pee Dee Rd.
Pee Dee Rd. – from Bethesda Ave. to Hwy. 211
Main St. – From Hwy. 211 to Poplar St.

In addition, Bethesda Road and Saunders Boulevard will be closed from 9 – 10 a.m.

“For the safety of the participants, some roads on the route will be closed to vehicle traffic,” said the town. “The map shows the 12k & 5k routes and what roads will be closed.”

100% of proceeds go to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sandhills.

The event begins 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.
