May 20 is National Rescue Dog Day, and Kimber needs rescuing.

“Moore County Sheriff’s Office would like to recognize the benefits of adding a new family member by adopting a rescue dog,” said the sheriff’s office on Facebook. “No matter their size, color, or breed, dogs will find a way to nuzzle, fetch, or beg their way into your heart.”

Kimber is a beautiful one year old female, pit bull mix, and is available for adoption at Moore County Sheriff’s Office Animal Services located at 5235 Highway 15/501, Carthage. For more information on Kimber, please call 910-947-2858.

If you are not ready to adopt yet, Moore County Sheriff’s Office is encouraging citizens to get involved during National Rescue Dog Day and other days as well.

“Shelters are always in need of donations. Most shelters have a list of constant needs, such as towels, dry and canned dog and cat food, toys, collars, and leashes. Financial donations are also gladly accepted.”
