The Sandhills Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) will host its annual Golf Tournament on October 17, 2018 at Whispering Pines Golf Club to support scholarships for outstanding JROTC high school students in the Chapter area.
Cost is $100/player, including greens fees, cart rental, breakfast snacks and coffee, catered buffet lunch, goodie bag, and great fun.
Foursomes, threesomes, twosomes and single players are welcome.
If you cannot play, come watch, or volunteer, and join in for lunch to help fund MOAA’s annual scholarships. You may also sponsor a golf hole for $100. Professional signs will be made up for sponsors.
And, of course, they gladly accept direct scholarship contributions. 100% of all money over costs goes to fund the scholarships, and any funds exceeding requirements are directed into the chapter’s Veterans Support Fund for Moore County veterans.
This year MOAA will award $16,000 to eight JROTC students in support of their first year in higher education.
Check-in at Whispering Pines GC begins at 8 a.m. and the shotgun starts at 9 a.m.
Please register and pay on-line at the Sandhills Chapter website: www.sandhillsmoaa.com, or you may also register your group or individual by downloading a form from the website and mailing it and a check to: MOAA, P.O. Box 4205, Pinehurst, NC 28374.
