Sandhills Cinemas 10 is expected to reopen for business after being shut down last Wednesday by the Southern Pines Fire Department for failing their fire inspection.

Movie goers were greeting by closure signs posted on the main doors this past week due to unsafe conditions which constitutes a fire hazard endangering the public’s welfare.

The theater passed a follow-up fire inspection and has been given the all clear to open.  

Crews have been working this past week making the needed repairs at the theater located at 104 Brucewood Road in Southern Pines. A person at the theater who wanted to remain anonymous informed us the sprinkler system needed immediate repairs as well as some electrical issues.

Over the last three years, Sandhills Cinemas have been cited with 187 violations.  The Southern Pines Fire Department will be performing monthly fire inspections as a precautionary measure.
