Seven Sandhills Machine players have been selected by Team North Carolina to represent our State at the 3rd Annual U.S. Basketball Games to be played August 11th – 12th at Lakepoint Sports Champions Complex in Catersville, GA.

Nominations were submitted from programs throughout North Carolina for rising fifth (2025) through 11th (2019) grades, Sandhills Machine nominated 14 players, the following players were selected and are more than ready to compete:

Kyle Ray, C/PF class of 2022
Thomas Mandell, SF/SG class of 2022
Jalin Morgan, C class of 2024
Jaylen Sturdivant, SF/SG class of 2024
Davion Riggins, SF/SG class of 2024
Taveon Harris, C class of 2025
Jamari Harvey, CG class of 2025

According to Sandhills Machine’s website, “Sandhills Machine is a youth national travel basketball program focusing on making our players accountable and responsible on and off the court.”

Sandhills Machine is based out of Southern Pines, and is a non-profit group for our youth in the community. 

Their mission is “to empower and develop advantaged/disadvantaged youth through competitive national travel basketball competition, mentorship, and mini sport camps. The social development of our youth using these tools will aid in empowering and instilling worth, while promoting a positive influence and healthy environment in our community.”
